retired, Texas A&M University (retired)
in College Station
Now that I am retired after nearly 20 years of educational research and development at Texas A&M University, I have the time to focus on writing about my experiences. "Rambler Rose"(2015) is about my childhood and coming of age in coastal California in the 1940s, '50s & '60s. It's a tale of family relationships, American pop and political culture, and race and religion. My journey began in the southern California communities of San Fernando and Carpinteria and moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in the early 1950s. "Rambler Rose" received the award for Best Texas Autobiography in 2016 by the Texas Association of Authors. I live with my husband, Bob Presley, just outside the city limits of College Station. My first book "Chicken Poop for the Soul" is about our experiences with backyard chickens on our one-acre urban farm.
