Teresa Foard is from Melbourne, Australia and has lived in Vientiane for 3 years.
She will present "women hold up half the sky" a selection of images of women past and present from developed and developing countries. Her images celebrate the role women have played in History past and present. She contemplates the question of whom history is written about and why the lives of some figures are seen as more significant than others.
Teresa grew up around strong female role models both in her family and in the society around her. She is currently a member of Envision Theatre Company in Vientiane and has recently played a string of strong female characters including a 16 year old Emma dealing with death in her family, Mother Superior and the Goddess of the Lake.
She has been a teacher of History, Humanities and Italian for the past 20 years and has lived on four continents in seven countries. She currently teaches at Vientiane International School.
