Sarmala is an artist living and working in Jaffna, Sri Lanka. She is currently a visiting lecturer at the University of Jaffna, since completing her BFA there in 2013.
Sarmala held her first solo exhibition titled “KALAITHUTHU KALAMUTRAM” in Jaffna in 2015. She has also participated in numerous group shows in India and Sri Lanka. Her interests lie in creating cards, garlands and Kolams, copper art, assemblage, sewing and palmyra crafting.
