The Mystery of Mimbres Pottery

BY ROSLYN FASSETT
@ VOL 1 ON MAR 25, 2017

While traveling through the Gila Wilderness area in New Mexico, Roslyn Fassett  drove into the valley of the Mimbres people. Always having been attracted by tribal art, she focused on Mimbres pottery. Their polychrome clay bowls are greatly valued today. Rediscovered in the last century, valued and looted, the designs illustrate aspects of their everyday lives, ritual and otherworldly beliefs.
