Rodrigo F. Rentería-Valencia is a lecturer of Anthropology at Central Washington University. He holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Anthropology from the University of Arizona. He has extensive teaching experience imparting introductory and advance undergraduate seminars involving the critical discussion of issues related to race, language kinship, class, ritual, gender, ecology and knowledge systems. His recent research interests reside at the intersection of semiotics, visual anthropology and nonhuman agency. Two months in, he is still thrilled to be living in Ellensburg and he promises to use as few multisyllabic words as possible during this presentation.
