Mary has taught art for over eight years at several colleges and at Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden in FL. Her large outdoor sculptures for Public Art projects are in several states, three state parks, government buildings, the US Botanic Garden in Washington DC, etc. She is a member of American Society of Botanical Artists and local art groups. Recently, she showed botanical illustrations of native plants of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in the Centennial exhibit to honor 100 years of the National Parks. It includes the work of William Bartram, the original “Flower Hunter”, native orchids, Ginseng, and TN plants. She was “ Wildflower Pilgrimage Artist of the Year” in Gatlinburg, TN in 2017 and had a solo show at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts on native and endangered plants then. She has won national awards from the American Orchid Society for bronze sculptures of orchids.
