Photographer Luka Nina Alagiyawanna was born in Berlin in 1990, with a German Sri Lankan background. During her studies in photography (Bachelor of Arts B.A.) at BTK, Berliner Technische Kunsthochschule, she started freelancing in the fields of portraiture and fashion.
In her free projects, she mainly concentrates on personal driven topics concerning issues of identity and life in society. In doing so she generally works on portraits and stills of the surrounding with a subjective documentary approach. In 2013 she gained her first Photography teaching experience at Academy of Design Colombo, Northumbria University. In 2014 she graduated in her BA at BTK in Berlin with the participative project "From This Point Forward“. Luka‘s work has been shown in group and solo exhibitions in Berlin, London, Sri Lanka and Italy. She currently lives in Berlin and Colombo.
