A Womble’s View of Christchurch

BY KATHARINE WATSON
@ VOL 23 ON MAY 04, 2015

Archeologist Katharine Watson explores the discoveries recently excavated in a construction site sitting behind the theatre she presents in. The wild tales she spins out of a few broken tabacco pipes reveals a richer, more nuanced story about her city, Christchuch, NZ.

Miasmas and Malaises

BY KATHARINE WATSON
@ VOL 39 ON APR 27, 2019

Katharine Watson is an archaeologist, currently doing her PhD at UC. She loves houses and people's life stories and - oddly - isn't talking about either of those things in this PechaKucha, but is instead focusing on the landscapes that have shaped the lives and health of the people of Otautahi/Christchurch. In her spare time, Katharine is the president of the New Zealand Archaeological Association.
