Justin Beckman received a BFA from Art Center College of design in 1998 and an MFA in sculpture from Central Washington University in 2008. He enjoys a town-and- country lifestyle with a studio in the small, unincorporated town of Thorp, WA and a home in Ellensburg with his wife Monica and their son Porter. In addition to being a founding member of PUNCH Gallery, an artist-run space in the Pioneer Square area of Seattle, Beckman is also a graphic designer at Central Washington University and a partner in NW Media Group specializing in branding, design and consulting for print, web and interior spaces.
Beckman has exhibited work both locally and nationally including Art Share in Los Angeles, CA; The Museum of Art in Ft. Lauderdale, FL; G.A.S.P. in Boston, MA; Tacoma Art Museum, Tacoma WA; The Frye Art Museum, Seattle, WA; Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts, and 3rd Ward in Brooklyn, NY. He is a past recipient of an Artist Trust Gap Grant and a 4-Culture Site-Specific Project Grant, and has work in the permanent collection at Tacoma Art Museum.

In Rural Famous at PechaKucha Night Ellensburg Vol.7, Justin Beckman shares his love of "open spaces". His journey from the smoggy city of Los Angeles to the rural views of Ellensburg have led him to create photography that highlight the beauty of rural landscapes and accentuates the differences between rural and city life.
