in Portsmouth, NH
I’m a native of Northern England and came to the US in 1975 for a year. They couldn’t get rid of me. I studied journalism and literature at the University of New Hampshire and, after a career in technical writing and editing in the software industry, I am now fully retired. I enjoy a variety of interests that include reading widely, writing prose and poetry, community volunteering, traveling extensively, competitive fencing, issuing an endless stream of opinions on just about everything, and fortifying my sense of humor. I am married to Effie Malley and, apart from five years in Germany in the early 1990s, we have lived in Portsmouth since 1986. I am also the proud father of Sam and Tonje and grandfather to Leon and Benedicte.
