Ga Rick Lee
Lao People's Democratic Republic
Ga Rick Lee is a Malaysian-Chinese-Australian who moved from the US to Laos in early 2016. His life consists mostly of moments of cultural confusion.
He has a passion for trying new and creative things, which has seen him perform in an amateur circus in California, ride naked through the streets of Seattle with hundreds of others, and climb 100 foot tall redwood trees. He is an acroyoga enthusiast, and an amateur blues and fusion dancer. He started Vientiane's own acroyoga group and wants to help bring more partner dancing to Vientiane. He hopes to be a part of many more creative pursuits in the Capital.
His day job is working as a Senior Solar Engineer for the Vientiane-based company, Sunlabob Renewable Energy. Before that, he spent six years living in the US, the Philippines and the Australian desert working on renewable energy projects. His recent work for Sunlabob included a month in Myanmar travelling to remote mountain villages to supervise the construction of solar powered microgrids. He is excited to be a part of the renewable energy revolution in South East Asia.
