Втзприятието на човешкият мозък
BY KRISTINA RACHEVA
@ VOL 3
ON NOV 26, 2016

The Power of the Arts
From today we're going to start sharing a couple of presentations a day -- we've been getting our hands on quite a few of late -- and we start with "The Power of the Arts," with Kathryn Blume talking about the power of the arts in building powerful movements for addressing climate change and communicating a potent, creative vision for a world without oil. It was recorded at PechaKucha Night in Montpelier, VT Vol. 3.
"Visible Shell" is a year-long project by artist Erica Felicella, and you'll find out all about it in this presentation (from PKN Dallas Vol. 10), including how it was produced.
We are very thankful to the PechaKucha family for creating and sharing the format, allowing so many people to connect and share their vision of the world. We wish there's 1.001 PechaKucha Nights with endless tales to tell, allowing us to live longer and yes, happier.
Poster for PKN Knoxville Vol. 7
Amos Oaks, a PKN presenter from #5, has a bit of insight to share about his design for the PKN #7 poster. "The book of Proverbs 29:18 says, "without a vision, the people parish". Religious or not, can you deny this? When we don't live or pursue our dreams and passion we dry up - life becomes a drought. The thirst that follows can potentially be unquenchable. I was asked to present at PechaKucha a while back. The challenge of consolidating my own vision was, frankly, a scary proposition. My participation lit a new fire in me. When I was asked to create a poster for PechaKucha Knoxville Vol 7, I was thrilled to do so. This community calls people to look at, tear apart, reconstruct, eat whole, regurgitate, and breathe deep their own personal vision. The result is life. My poster attempts to embody ideas of passion, zeal, excitement, spirit, fervor, dedication, affection, devotion, joy, ardor, and anything that breathes life into humanity. The poster is quite regional in nature. The snake handlers of our region have a deep passion that takes them beyond what some may see as normal. Their devotion moves them to take a scripture literally, face death, and come out unscathed. In my opinion this gives them vision to take on another day. That's what anyone's vision does. It propels them to live another day - to grab death by the neck and hang on for dear life." -Amos Oaks - http://www.chocolateshores.com/
