Going into depth on how bring a solution to the issue, and targeting one of causes. Targeting Japanese women, they purpose the idea of sex-toy parties to get women talking in a safe and comfortable inviroment, and help encourage couples to grow closer to each other.

The Designer Toy or “Art Toy” represents an intense love for the materiality of the object itself. Frequent Presenter Don "datadub" Kratzer proposes to lure us into the Designer Toy movement by taking us to where it all started, a time that saw the birth of action figures; “dolls for boys”.

Anelis Cristina Coscioni was born and raised in Brazil where she graduated from a veterinary school. After finishing her Doctorate, she married Jorge Luna, moved to California, Idaho, Mexico and finally to Sioux Falls. Anelis was actually “made” here. When she arrived in Sioux Falls, she couldn’t work because of her Visa restrictions. She started volunteering and discovered a new, fantastic world in Non Profit. With the support of her husband and the help of a good friend, Charlie Day, she discovered that she could use her gifts doing what makes her really happy - helping others. While being a stay at home mom to the almost 4 years old Anita, Anelis, together with her Soroptimist club, started a free Toy Lending Library and, that, was when she started thinking big 

Play-Deco

After seeing the destruction unleased upon the Tohoku region, Japanese toy-maker Takashi Tsunoda was compelled to do something creative, constructive.  In today's Presentation of the Day, "Play-Deco" from PKN Tokyo, Vol. 92, Takashi (of Twelvetone, or Magnote in English) discusses his passion for developing simple, customizable wood and paper figures and toys. He has added elements of creativity to his figures by allowing owners to design their own papercraft exteriors. His hope is that by allowing children to develop their own modifications to their playthings, they might learn the power of creation.

What are Kinkeshi?

In today's Presentation of the Day, "What are Kinkeshi?" from the Global Night edition of PKN Tokyo (Vol. 106), Don Kratzer discusses a miniature toy that took the world by storm in 1986, and vanished just as quickly by the time 1987 had come around. He speaks of "Kinkeshi," a small rubber character toy line with hundreds of varieties and permutations. Naturally, Don explains, Kinkeshi orginated in Japan just about 30 years ago, but he goes on to speak about the contemporary movement of creatives developing new and unique Kinkeshi characters.

Custom Character Culture for Causes

“I’ve really become interested in doing custom toy shows and donating the money to good causes.” Figure and toy expert Don Kratzer speaks on Indie Toy Custom Culture. In “Custom Character Culture for Causes” from PKN Tokyo Vol. 117, Don discusses the discrepancies and crossovers between creators, characters, and figures, as well as goes into depth on the custom figure culture.

New Born Fame

Should newborns be given a choice as to whether they want to be on social media? One woman designed a toy that gives them that “choice.” Technologist and developer Laura Cornet found that 46% of parents (based on a UK poll) post photos of their children to Facebook on the the day they are born. In “New Born Fame” from PKN Breda Vol. 12 we see that she developed a product that allows babies to post selfies from the crib as a technological and ethical experiment. The results were greater that she could have expected.
