You have to love what Kaunas put together in terms of graphical elements for its inaugural edition of PechaKucha Night back in May. PechaKucha Night in Kaunas Vol. 2 was held this past Saturday, and as organizer Andrius Petkevicius tells us, it was a "hot and tasty" night -- we definitely love the outdoor setting. Here's a selection of photos from the event, but there's more to see in this Flickr photoset.
PKN Kansas City in the News
PechaKucha Night gets a rather extensive piece in the August 16 edition of the Star Magazine section of the Kansas City Star. You can read the article online here, and PKN Kansas City organizers have put scans of the original article in this Flickr photoset.
Spreading the Word in Kansas City
Even though most of the PechaKucha cities will be represented in some way or another on the 20th, there are still regular PKN events happening throughout the month, each including special presentations and ideas for the reconstruction in Haiti. Pictured above is a card prepared by organizers of PKN Kansas City that was given out at last night's Vol. 8.

The photo may be on the dark side, but here's a glimpse of last month's PechaKucha Night in Kansas City Vol. 8. As organizer Jayne Higdon tells us, the event had "an amazing 300+ crowd" that expressed "a very positive reception for the PK for Haiti initiative." Catching Up with PKN Kansas City
Another PechaKucha Night happening tonight (August 12) is Kansas City's Vol. 10 -- it will be held at the Crosstown Station, and you can find a partial list of presenters with links on the official event page. At this very moment, Kansas is hosting their 2013 Kansas City Design Week celebration (it started February 28th, and goes 'til the 8th of March) and in the midst of these flowing creative rivers, PKN Kansas City will host their Vol. 16 evening. According to PKN KC, the event will feature "a new crop of our city’s freshest and finest creative talents will share their inscription, talents and ideas." They come from the rivers. They drown swimmers, they challenge travelers to a sumo wrestling match. They will take your shiri-kodama. What are they?
