Gallery MA Posters by Akita Design Kan
Gallery MA is currently hosting PechaKucha Night founders Astrid and Mark's retrospective exhibition, and at PKN Tokyo Vol. 60 we had the great pleasure of taking a visual tour of some of gallery's recent exhibition posters by Akita Design Kan studio.

PKN Kansas City Vol. 6
PechaKucha Night was back in Kansas City last week for a sixth edition, and as organizer Jayne Higdon tells us, it was a great one. It was a blast, and we had yet another packed house. Nine presenters entertained the crowd with tales of purposely stained ceramics (lipstick on the rim or a hair on a plate in the glaze), a walk along the city's major river through sketches, and an essay on how design won't save the world. Below, a few more photos from PKN Kansas City Vol. 6 -- there's more to see in this Flickr photoset.

PKN Kansas City in the News
PechaKucha Night gets a rather extensive piece in the August 16 edition of the Star Magazine section of the Kansas City Star. You can read the article online here, and PKN Kansas City organizers have put scans of the original article in this Flickr photoset.

Spreading the Word in Kansas City
Even though most of the PechaKucha cities will be represented in some way or another on the 20th, there are still regular PKN events happening throughout the month, each including special presentations and ideas for the reconstruction in Haiti. Pictured above is a card prepared by organizers of PKN Kansas City that was given out at last night's Vol. 8.

PKN Kansas City Vol. 8
The photo may be on the dark side, but here's a glimpse of last month's PechaKucha Night in Kansas City Vol. 8. As organizer Jayne Higdon tells us, the event had "an amazing 300+ crowd" that expressed "a very positive reception for the PK for Haiti initiative." And don't forget to check out the "awesome tacos" journey presented by Clifton Alexander (at Vol. 6).

Catching Up with PKN Kansas City
Another PechaKucha Night happening tonight (August 12) is Kansas City's Vol. 10 -- it will be held at the Crosstown Station, and you can find a partial list of presenters with links on the official event page. This is also a good time to point out PKN Kansas City's Flickr photostream, which includes photos, past event posters, and press articles -- here's a photoset for May's Vol. 9.

PKN Posters: Kansas City, KS Vol. 16

According to PKN KC, the event will feature "a new crop of our city’s freshest and finest creative talents will share their inscription, talents and ideas." To see more great posters from PechaKucha Nights all over the world, check out our Tumblr blog.

PK People: Kate Levina
This week's PechaKucha People spotlight lands on the lovely Kate Levina and the PechaKucha Night Volgograd Team. Taking a few cues from her leading role in running and curating PechaKucha Nights, Kate has also recently landed a key role in the preparation for FIFA 2018 in Volgograd. Three cheers for this hardworking team of inspiring and creative individuals - wishing them luck at their upcoming event PechaKucha Night Volgograd Vol. 3. Keep the ball rolling, Volgograd!
