Iowa Students and PechaKucha

The Iowan news site Spencer Daily Report has a small spot on PechaKucha and Spencer students: Students from Spencer High School's speech class and foreign exchange program gave small "PechaKucha" presentations at area coffee shops Friday afternoon. PechaKucha presentations include 20 slides that last 20 seconds each, creating a presentation no longer than six minutes 40 seconds long. Davenport Debuts at Figge

Located alongside the Mississippi River, the city of Davenport, Iowa recently stirred up a bit of creativity in their town in celebrating their very first PechaKucha Night! PKN Davenport's Vol. 1 was hosted by the Figge Art Museum, and is being run by museum Director of Education Melissa Hueting. Local newspaper Quad Cities Online posted a press release in preparation for this stimulating affair: The first PechaKucha Night in Davenport will feature seven presenters including Mayor Gluba who will speak about RiverVision. Gluba said, "The Figge Art Museum is a great community asset, and I commend its staff for the creativity and hard work they have put into developing PechaKucha Night in Davenport. We have a lot of creative, artistic people in the Quad Cities area so I am looking forward to seeing the other presentations. I encourage everyone who can to join us at this fun, free event."
