Carte di famiglia

@ VOL 9 ON JUN 05, 2014

I want to realize some picture-postcards that show “historical” family scenes.

These drows are made on tellings and descriptions of caracters and environment, so them are personalized for a single family. As if we look at an old photo album, we could have a memory sketch album.

I work as architect in Genova.

In 2011 founded the graphic and photo project RetròScatto.

From 2006 since 2013 I have joined and worked with Linkinart, group founded with other architects.

I have attended at some art exhibitions and realized illustration for publishing and music cd.

Art of the Pencils

@ VOL 16 ON SEP 01, 2016

“Pencil is a small thing that can make a big difference in the lives of people who use them.”

In "Art of the Pencil" from PechaKucha Night New York Vol.16 , Caroline Weaver, amateur pencil collector but lifelong pencil lover, founded CW Pencil Enterprise in November 2014. With her pencil experts, Caroline digs up the stories and origins of these objects and make them accessible to those who appreciate them for their functionality, beauty and history. As simple as it may be, the pencil is something which despite advances in technology will never become obsolete.

This was "PechaKucha of the Day" on Tuesday, December 13th, 2016.

Dr. PowerPoint

@ VOL 38 ON SEP 04, 2018

Dr. Powerpoint, also known as Kaj Noskaj, is the first Pecha Kucha Aarhus-presenter to have his own entrance monologue. And also the first to have his own entrance music. And also the first Nobel Peace Prize-recipient, although that might not be entirely true...

Go on a trip with Dr Powerpoint into the problems of Pecha Kucha Aarhus. Why is it so difficult to make a presentation?!

With science that's almost real and graphs that nearly make sense, he comes close to answering some of the questions.

This is an absolute one-to-watch.

(Disclaimer: The presentation contained several animations and transitions that cannot be seen on this website. Sorry!)

(Disclaimer: Dr. Powerpoint's real name is Kaj Noskaj. And Kaj Noskaj's real name is Jack Jackson)

You have to love what Kaunas put together in terms of graphical elements for its inaugural edition of PechaKucha Night back in May. It all starts with the poster above, but continues with flyers -- even a "pop-up" one -- that give the whole thing a lovely branded look. Below, a few flyers, including the pop-up one

A Modernist Graphic Designer on Kawaii, Utopian Plans for Moscow, and Last Night in Tokyo

Presentations The cute -- kawaii -- culture that was perfected in Japan has now proliferated on a global scale. Why? This modernist graphic designer (aka Craig Yamashita) laments the reasons (from PKN Tokyo Vol. 92). Artyom Ukropov is an architect at Megabudka Bureau, and in this presentation (in Russian, from PKN Moscow Vol. 18) he shares his utopian plans -- all based on real data and statistics -- on how to solve all of the problems of modern Russia. His solution involves moving all of the population to the territory that surrounds the Moscow region. Posters Today's new crop of posters on our Tumblr blog includes PKN Tallinn Vol. 4 (which happens tomorrow night), PKN Bangor Vol. 5 (also happening tomorrow night), PKN Plzen Vol. 1 (happening tonight), and PKN Xalapa Vol. 10 (happening tonight, and pictured above).  Photos The photos we have to share today are all pictured above, and were taken last night at PKN Tokyo Vol. 92 by our resident photographer, Michael Holmes. These are traditional shots we always take and include (from top) the big group shot, the presenters group shot, and the "PechaKucha Mix" participants.  Calendar On the final day of May, you'll be able to attend the following events: PKN Plzen Vol. 1, PKN Seattle Vol. 36, PKN Ulladulla Vol. 3, and PKN Xalapa Vol. 10. Tomorrow (June 1), this is what your Friday night could include: PKN Bucharest Vol. 9, PKN Tallinn Vol. 4, PKN Sioux Falls Vol. 4, PKN Kumamoto Vol. 3, and PKN Bangor Vol. 5.

Animated Graphics for Australian TV, an Intro the Color Wheel, and a Doom Clock from Vladimir

Presentations Tim Costello has worked in Australia's television industry for the past 10 years, creating animated graphics for a variety of TV shows, which he shares in this presentation (from PKN Tokyo Vol. 93). He also worked on the feature film Where the Wild Things Are. In her presentation (in German, from PKN Aalen Vol. 6), Annegret Barth wants to introduce us to the interplay of colors. Using photos from nature, Annegret walks us through the development of the color wheel and its possible applications. (in German) We don't have a full presentation to share, but PKN Vladimir organizer Boris Matin has sent us the following photos (above) and description of this rather interesting participant at the city's recent Vol. 6.Sergei Karelin is a silversmith and goldsmith, a member of the Union of Artists of Russia, and an academic at the Petrovskaya Academy of Science and Art in St. Petersburg. The clock (in the photos) shows the countdown of the time from the moment of the Birth of the Earth to the moment of its collapse, owing to its inevitable approach to the Sun. The work calls for the drawing together of world religions, the union of all nations, and the immediate stop of all war conflicts in the face of the fatal disaster. Posters We have two new posters on the Tumblr blog today, one for this month's PKN Waterville Vol. 8 (pictured above), and one for PKN Chattanooga Vol. 11, also happening later this month.  Video Pisa's Vol. 2 is happening this Friday, and today we have a video promo to share for the event.  Calendar On this 4th of July, we may not have any PKNs happening in the US, but we do have these two events: PKN Amsterdam Vol. 22 and PKN Utsunomiya Vol. 1. Tomorrow, you can look for the following: PKN Semarang Vol. 9, PKN Augsburg Vol. 1, and PKN Las Palmas Vol. 7.

A French Magazine About Graphic Design and Painted Fantasy Worlds

Presentations Alexandre Dimos is a French graphic designer, and in his presentation (from PKN Tokyo Vol. 95) he talks about Back Cover. As he explains, he couldn't find what he really wanted to read in France, and so he helped create an independant magazine focusing on thinking and analyzing graphic design and typographic practices, and to a larger extent, visual arts. Miro Pecho is a Slovak painter, and he uses his presentation (in Czech, from PKN Znojmo Vol. 1) to explain how different fantasy worlds influence his paintings. Posters We have two new posters on the Tumblr blog today, starting with PKN Malaga Vol. 3, pictured above (the event was held last night). The other addition is for PKN New Orleans Vol. 7, which is happening tomorrow night.  The image below is not a poster or a flyer, but rather part of a call for presenters for the next PKN in Genoa (or Genova), and we loved it so much we wanted to share it. All roads lead to PechaKucha! The event itself will take place on November 23. Calendar There are two PKNs on the agenda tonight (October 3), PKN Bilbao Vol. 13 and PKN Szczecin Vol. 1. Tomorrow, it's another big Thursday: PKN Pittsburgh Vol. 13, PKN Moncton Vol. 7, PKN Ekaterinburg Vol. 6, PKN Doha Vol. 6, PKN Vaxjo Vol. 12, PKN Kolding Vol. 18, and PKN New Orleans Vol. 7.

She goes back several thousand years to paint a mural-sized picture of design's evolution. She moves from ancient Egypt’s hieroglyphics, to the printing press and other turn of the century innovations, both in technology and creative thinking, and concludes with the most recent advances in the tech world today.
