The Making of PKN Gdansk
We've posted plenty of PechaKucha Night event reports, but this is probably the first "making of" coverage we see, courtesy of PKN Gdansk organizer Filip Kozarski. It's great to see how things go down during those last hours of preparation -- we cover the result here. We're huge fans of the event poster that was created for that inaugural PKN Gdansk as well.

PKN Bali for Haiti
The "PechaKucha Global Night for Haiti" will be a true community event, bringing together as many of the PKN cities as possible on one day (February 20). The organizers of PKN Bali were among the first to pledge their support, and here's a look at the poster they've put together for the event. Note that the venue is still to be announced.
PKN Catania Vol. 10
As we're sure you'll all agree, the venue of Convitto Nazionale M. Cutelli for PechaKucha Night in Catania Vol. 10 was an inspired one, providing an unforgettable setting for the evening's presentations. We include a few photos in this post, but there's more to see in this Flickr photoset. And please note that PKN Catania Vol. 11 is set for December 20 (but at a different venue).
PKN Bucharest Vol. 7
Bucharest held its PechaKucha Night Vol. 7 last month, and as organizer Irina Ionica tells us, "presentations were simply great, of a really high level." You'll find the full list of presenters with links on the event page, and there are more photos in this Facebook gallery.
PKN Skovde in the News
We love seeing PechaKucha Nights get local coverage, and here's a look at some of the press that PKN Skovde in Sweden has been getting (from a local newspaper). The organizing team sure looks like a happy bunch, and based on the posters for their events, we're thinking that the city's PKN series is a happy one as well.
Reviving Athens, an Appreciation of Oceans, and PKN at NXNE
Presentations Tasso Chalkiopoulos is the founder of Atenistas, a local group aiming to help revive the city of Athens through volunteer work and urban interventions. In his presentation (in Greek, from PKN Athens Vol. 4), he gives a few good reasons on why Athens is a great place to live. Geoff Hodgson is a photographer, surfer, and musician, and in his presentation (from PKN Dunsborough Vol. 1), his goal is to make us appreciate the forceful nature of oceans. Posters We have two new posters on the Tumblr blog today, first for PKN Derby Vol. 6 (pictured above), which is set for July 25, and then for PKN Mendoza Vol. 5, which will be held a few days later, on July 29. Photos Today we'll point you to this Flickr photoset of photos from Toronto's recent PKN Vol. 16, which was held as part of last month's NXNE festival. Pictured above, the event's presenters. Calendar As we mentioned yesterday, there's a lot on the schedule for tonight (July 12): PKN St. Louis Vol. 9, PKN Regensburg Vol. 9, PKN Blue Mountains Vol. 2, PKN Wakefield Vol. 6, PKN Galway Vol. 7, PKN Blue Hill Vol. 4, and PKN Kyiv Vol. 8. Tomorrow, there's just one event on tap, in the form of PKN Chattanooga Vol. 11.
Greetings from PKN Cities
As part of this week's 10th anniversary celebrations, we asked PKN city organizers to send us a special greeting image that we will include in a special City Loop, to share at our PKN Tokyo Vol. 100 -- the City Loop is the slideshow that is shown at all PKNs before the the start and during the breaks, showing photos from PKN events around the world. We've received so many great ones, like the one you see pictured here, from the PKN Murcia organizers. We will also share this special City Loop with all city organizers, and so they may share it at a PKN near you.
We are doing it again! Get ready!
