Adam and Joshua's (Adua) presentation takes us on their extraordinary journey in order to see life from their perculiar perspective. After experiencing the post holiday blues back in 2013, they strived to make everyday different by allocating a theme to each month and prevent their lives from feeling 'Groundhoggy'. After experiencing months of foxes, herbs, flags and even the number 37, they discovered you can make every day worth while and emphasise your creativity by the limitations you place upon yourself.

Heineken Future Bottle Design Challenge 2013
If you've watched our batch of presentations from the recent Tokyo Designers Week edition PechaKucha Night, then you'll recall a presentation by Heineken's Global Head of Design, Mark van Iterson (pictured below), about the company's new bottle remix competition ("Remix Our Future"). Following the success of last year's inaugural edition -- in which our very own PechaKucha co-founder, Mark Dytham, was a judge -- they're doing it again, this time incorporating the brand's 140 years history as part of the brief. And yes, the two Marks will be judging the competition again. You'll find more details on the competition in this post over at Cool Hunting, or you can go directly to the "Heineken Future Bottle Design Challenge 2013" site (Facebook page) to enter.
Performance Arcade Session 2013
We're revving up for our first PKN session of 2013 with our annualoutdoors Performance Arcade Session in collaboration with the Playground (NZ Ltd) http://theplaygroundnz.com/ The Arcade venue comprises a series of containers featuring installations, performance art, live music, and works that travel through, or occupy spaces along the stunning Wellington Waterfront. We're looking to feature our surprise presenters spot first trialled at our final session of 2012 - 5 people who volunteer on the spot to talk to images they've never seen before. This proved to be one of the highlights of the October 2012 session. Our brave presenters were all from overseas - Russia, New York, Sweden, Chile and Germany. New Zealanders were far too shy for the challenge. We definitely need to have this presentation after the beer break - not before - so more people can pluck up some 'Dutch courage' aided and abetted by the delights of the Performance Arcade bar! The PKN Welly and Playground NZ crews are crossing fingers and toes for a fine and warm evening
Daisy Balloon 2013
In this edition of Presentation of the Day, artist Rie Hosokai (along with designer Takashi Kawada; the duo is Daisy Balloon) showcases some of her group's recent projects. This presentation was part of Roppongi Art Night 2013. 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT teamed up with the global PechaKucha organization for two very special sessions of 20x20 presentations -- part of the exhibition "Design Ah!" -- starting with a kids workshop during the day that was followed by a presentation session, and then a regular PechaKucha event for adults in the evening.

Coming Up in 2016
PKN COVENTRY 2016 Before Christmas the PechaKucha Coventry team got together for our AGM… we’re calling it that… though mainly it consisted of us eating at Habibi’s, drinking herbal tea’s and having a good natter. But, in amongst all that, we’ve also managed to set up plans for the next year of PKN Events. And we are really spoiling you with six thought provoking events lined up to get you talking, thinking and drinking! [our aims for all of the PKN Nights]. The first event is drawing ever closer; in celebration of that extra day we’ve earnt this leap year, on Sat 20th February, we present What I Would Do With an Extra Day. An opportunity to think about/imagine what we could achieve with a whole extra 24 hours in our year. I could think of a million things I could do (sure would love an extra day for this damn Tax Return). As always PKN takes place at The Tin Music and Arts Venue which is at Coventry’s Canal Basin, and PKN Nights are just £5 entrance. [The event on 20th is also a part of the Global PKN, meaning that there will be hundreds of PKNs happening at the same time all over the world. Be a part of it!] And if you love that one, you’ll be happy to know that you wont have much longer to wait till the next one. On Tues 1st March Talking Birds, as part of their Twin Story project are hoping to connect artists in Coventry with artists in our twin city of Volgograd (Former Stalingrad) for a cross country PKN My City : My Art. This event will particularly appeal to those with an interest in the arts and the nature of town twinning. And as if that weren’t enough, the rest of the year leaves just as much to look forward to: Tues 3rd May - My Favourite Things Tues 5th July - My City of Culture Tues 4th July - Lost in Music Tues 6th Dec - What would you like for Christmas? And, if you wish to talk at any of these PKN Coventry events then please send us a message through the CONTACT PAGE. Scroll down to find Coventry in the city box and then your message will come straight through to us. We hope to see you at as many of them as you can make. The PKN Coventry Team @PKN_Coventry
