With the It’s Your World project, Candace Printz and her students aim to challenge how people think about their environment, art, and the individuals in their community. Chelsea Clinton wrote a book, “It’s Your World: Get Informed, Get Inspired & Get Going!” that focuses on positive impacts within your community. In the spirit of this book, Candace and other teachers across the country submitted projects which would improve their community.

Long Beach Soul Stories

On Sunday, May 20th, the Long Beach Soul Stories project curated an evening of live storytelling at the Long Beach Playhouse, where participants were given a platform to share their stories of resilience. The event was born out of a desire to cultivate human connection, inspire hope and build empathy in the community during one of the more polarizing times in U.S. history. It was also designed to provide a transformative experience for storytellers. The project provided seven individuals the opportunity for storytelling coaching by Ernesto Rocha, TEDx speaker and transformational coach, to craft their compelling narrative. The evening gave the storytellers a safe forum and allowed for information and emotions to be freely shared during the experience.
