President, The Last Kilometer in Ann Arbor

The Water Box Project

PRESENTED ON JUL 31, 2019
IN DETROIT @ VOL 38

Jaron Rothkop, President of the Last Kilometer, joins us to discuss the ongoing efforts to provide Flint with water years after the devastating misuse of public facilities (and government funding ceased). During his presentation he touched on the effects of donated water bottle waste and how that was not a viable, long-term solution for the people of Flint.

He discussed how his Water Box project in conjunction with multiple concerned partners has brought about real lasting change, minimizing single-use plastic waste. As an open source idea, the Water Box project has peaked interest not only in the US, but all around the world.
