Shona Sculpture from Zimbabwe

Rosemary Chimbganda is an expert and seller of the Shona sculpture from her native Zimbabwe. These sought after works, made with over 250 types of stone, are carefully carved by Shona artisans, carrying on a culturally rich tradition of artistry. In this talk she will introduce some of the sculptors of these works with pictures from her most recent trip to Zimbabwe.

Geodesic Dome Sculptures

Lisa Bollinger has been with Arts Huntsville for over four years and has served several roles, including her current position as Events Manager. Lisa coordinates events to include Concerts in the Park, Art Tour of Homes, the Monte Sano Arts Festival and Panoply and the most recent iteration of the SPACES Sculpture Trail in 2016, now getting ready for the next round in 2018.  Lisa doesn’t consider herself an artist but embraces and enjoys coordinating and organizing art events and supporting and working closely with artists.

Shona Macnaughton

Shona Macnaughton is an artist based in Glasgow. Her practice is rooted in performance, writing and film, and questions of technology, subjectivity and labour. She explores the political conditions around specific architectures and institutional frameworks. Alongside this she takes part in projects with the collective Eastern Surf. Forthcoming projects include We Nurture, a commission from Collective gallery, Edinburgh.
