The Yoga of Storytelling

BY MARY ROBERTS
@ VOL 3 ON JAN 18, 2018

Isak Dinesen, the Danish writer, once said: “To be a person is to have a story to tell.” And a famous yogi once said that yoga is not about doing a bunch of postures well, it’s about the exploration and discovery of who we are. Mary Roberts shares that storytelling and practicing yoga share the common quality of self-inquiry. Without it, it’s just another story about our crazy family or a deep stretch to open the hip flexors. If we are to do either practice well, we must decide if we are willing to ask the hard questions or move past the fear of falling. It’s the only way it all makes sense.
