Sarah Glynn is an architect, academic and activist and has just started working with Sustrans in Edinburgh. She has played a leading role organising tenants in anti-demolition campaigns in Dundee and her published writing on housing includes an edited volume for Pluto Press (of which she also wrote half) entitled ‘Where the other half lives: Lower income housing in a neoliberal world’. Sarah has taught courses on housing policy and written a housing policy paper for Commonweal.

Colin Turnbull has been director at Hawthorn Housing Co-operative since August 2015. Before that he worked with West of Scotland Housing Association and various local authorities. He has worked in social housing his entire career. Colin lives in Ayrshire. He has four children and two grandchildren Hawthorn Housing Co-operative is a fully mutual co-operative in Possilpark, Glasgow with 316 houses and 48 under construction.

Queens Cross Housing Association

Originally from Newcastle on Tyne, Nick Ronan has worked in social housing for 32 years, initially in London and in Glasgow since 1994. He has delivered several social and affordable housing developments across Glasgow, particularly in the West End. These have included new build projects, conversions and rehabilitated tenements to provide social rented flats and houses, supported accommodation, mid- market rent and shared equity. Nick’s interest lies in overcoming the practical challenges involved in providing affordable and sustainable homes that people want to live in.
