Mighty Low Power Radio

BY CORY EBERHART
IN GOLDENDALE

Cory Eberhart stands up in front of her community to talk about the Mighty low power radio, which is 100 watts or less. Think of Low Power public radio as a selfie of a community. In an era where Clear Channel reigns supreme and programming is controlled by mega corporations, community radio can be a lot more personal. The wattage sends the signal only as far as your arm can reach, and it gets directed right back at you. More about a start-up lpfm in Goldendale, WA.

Radio Universitaria vs Radio Universitaria

BY AGUSTÍN PEÑA
@ VOL 42 ON JUN 25, 2015

O como no apagar el fuego con gasolina. Los medios sociales necesitan generarse una identidad, a veces adolescente, a veces trasnochada, y en casos como el de Ibero 90.9 es esquizofrénico. College Radio: Alive and Kickin'

BY JULIANNA TULLOS
@ VOL 23 ON MAY 11, 2017

Julianna Tullos gives an in-depth look at Knoxville's only terrestrial college radio station, WUTK, and discusses that not all radio is created equal. While working at the University of Tennessee college radio station, WUTK, in college in 2005, Julianna grew to appreciate the eclectic environment of radio, and odd-balls that fill it. Over a decade later, college radio is still just as relevent and important, providing a creative outlet, promoting community awareness, and providing a platform of expression for students and Knoxvillians.
