Speaker Beverly Best discusses the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), a regional body established by the Treaty of Basseterre signed in 1981. It later formed a single financial and economic space (an Economic Union) in June 2000.  Dubbed as one of the biggest global secrets, the OECS comprising 10 Small Island Developing States with a combined population of approximately 600,000 (which are among the smallest SIDS in the world) are at the forefront of regional integration, and represent the tightest regional grouping and most successful global model of integration to date.

Carolina Morton is from Mexico and is a Nutritionist. She is studying at the University of Aberdeen for her MSc in Global Health and Management. Gwen Robertson is from North East Aberdeenshire and has a background in Mental Health Nursing.  They are presenting on behalf of the MSc Global Heath cohort, on why they chose Global Health and Management and why they chose to study in Aberdeen and will be touching on some of the issues they have studied throughout the course.
