With his work, photographer Ally Gonzalo strives to bring home the idea that men of all shapes, sizes, and colours can be attractive. In photographing his subjects, he endeavours to convey a body-positive message and capture the beauty of those who don't fit within the non-conventional standard. For his talk at PechaKucha Night Winnipeg Vol. 36, Ally shared how he got his start in photography, how his identity and self-esteem shaped his perspective, and how he decided to take on the challenge of redefining masculinity in his work as a queer person of colour.
Ally's talk was recorded live at PechaKucha Night Winnipeg Vol. 36, on November 22 2018, at the Park Theatre.
