Confessions and Revelations of a Cartographer

PRESENTED ON NOV 30, 2018
IN ASHEVILLE @ VOL 21

Maps are powerful and timeless tools for communicating a wide range of human and geographic phenomena. The making of maps involves the telling of lies, both little and big, inadvertent and at times intentional. In doing so, certain truths and notions are exquisitely revealed.

Paul Gisondo's presentation explores the power and beauty of maps, illustrating how they are used to inform and humor us in our quest to understand and make sense of our world, and how we will never run out of things to map.

Watch to find out why!

This was "Presentation of the Day" on April 2nd, 2017.
