Designing to the Crowd

Using his experiences in Vietnam and his impressions upon moving back to Tokyo, Austin Klemmer addressed some of the fundamental issues facing designers and architects in developing countries, and the way these problems shed light on design/architecture in Tokyo. A recipient of Fulbright Scholarship and TEDx fellow, Amina Rizwan is a graduate of MFA in Metalsmithing from Cranbrook Academy of Arts in Michigan, USA. Currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Jewellery Design and Gemological Sciences at Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design, Lahore, Amina’s practices have extended to teaching, making, research and speaking about critical and reflective investigations pertaining to crafts, jewelry and objects within contemporary and historical contexts. She is also a writer for Art Jewelry Forum, a scholarly magazine and foremost authority on establishing critical discourse on contemporary jewelry and objects across countries and continents.
