A Japanese Landscape man in Asia

デザインのマーケットが世界に広がった現代、 日本人デザイナーが海外、 特にアジアで期待される役割について、日本人が文化的背景として持つ風景感や特異性を武器に、如何に海外で仕事をするかの話。

普段、日本人があまり意識しない独自の美意識は海外の人の目には特別に映る。特に庭園文化では「日本デザイン=禅(ZEN)」という認識が普遍化しており、日々強く求められる。中国におけるいくつかの作品例を中国のランドスケープデザインのトレンドとともに紹介。日本人ランドスケープデザイナーが世界で活躍することを期待する。

Originally from Japan, now living in Chelmsford, Tamae Isomura talks about her project designing the dementia friendly garden for local Broomfield hospital and the inspiration behind her work.

Tamae graduated from the Higher Certificate in Garden Design and MA in Garden Design at Writtle College with multiple awards. With an extensive experience in working at a large NHS hospital to create the healing outdoor spaces, she specialises in therapeutic landscape design by utilising both Japanese and English landscape philosophy and principles.
