Artificial Intelligence

@ VOL 40 ON MAY 22, 2019

Veteran Pecha Kucha-presenter Villads Claes is back for another round. This time he talks about Artificial Intelligence - and his dream for this technology is to build a better Google.

(Please bear in mind that this presentation originally had a lot of animations, that cannot be shown here. Furthermore, we encountered a lot of technical difficulties playing this Slideshow from PowerPoint Online, so the timings will be very off)

Den Skandinaviske Designhøjskole

@ VOL 40 ON MAY 22, 2019

Mette Grønningen swings by Pecha Kucha Aarhus to talk about Den Skandinaviske Designhøjskole (Scandinavian Design College). What do they actually do in such a place? And how does she, as a teacher, make sure they also live up to their expectations of teaching morals, ethics, politics, history, and not just design?

Danmark for Målene

@ VOL 40 ON MAY 22, 2019

Theresa Blegvad, at the time candidate for the European Parliament, and self-proclaimed "klimatosse" (climate-action madwoman) swings by to talk about the 17 sustainable development goals, developed by the UN.

She is part of the organization "Danmark for Målene" (Denmark For the Goals) that is all about spreading the word and how we can implement them.

(In a funny twist of fate, it turns out Theresa helped get Pecha Kucha to Aarhus, and actually was on stage at the very first event!)

De Uformelle Byskabere

@ VOL 40 ON MAY 22, 2019

Aarhus-based Anders Boisen talks about the informal powers of change in the city: The people and the grassroots! How has the modern cityscape changed - how and who is changing it today? We, the people, should remember that we (and not only the legislators) have the power to change our city!
If you want more reminders of this, you can also read his book: "De Uformelle Byskabere"

Jesper Kirkegaard om Jesper Kirkegaard

@ VOL 40 ON MAY 22, 2019

Our venue for the evening, Dokk1 in Aarhus, is actually the workplace of the multitalented Jesper Kirkegaard. Despite once being a dyslexic with stagefright who disliked poetry, he has ended up working in a library and doing comedy, Story Slam and Poetry Slam.
Jesper tells his story from the former to the latter. And along the way, we were even lucky enough to get a poem - Live!

Den Gode By

@ VOL 40 ON MAY 22, 2019

Den Gode By (The Good City) is an initiative and concept by Christian Fumz, a returning speaker at Pecha Kucha Aarhus. Den Gode By is all about giving entrepreneurial locals a good network and the means to kick off. From there, they supply these people with knowledge and partners and experience. And then it's all about paying it forward: You're part of the network for the next locals!

(This presentation has also been featured at Pecha Kucha Vejle)

Swinging Europe

@ VOL 40 ON MAY 22, 2019

Steen Mikkelsen is Project Manager of Swinging Europe, which is an international organization that works to nurture and grow talent and traditions within music. Among other things, they brought 3 Danish bands to a large concert event in Milan, where they got a chance to showcase their country.
We were also fortunate enough to get a quick rundown of the coming events hosted by Swinging Europe and NIMPE.

@ VOL 40 ON MAY 22, 2019

Tobias Dalager loves "bilkort" (Top Trumps). Even though it's a simple principle, it has endless hours of fun and countless themes and variations. Tobias, also a voracious poetry slammer, explains this in poetry form - of course.
Although being a game mostly about luck, he has arranged tournaments in the sport. And in August nothing short of a Danish Champion will be found!
