Beyond Limits

Japanese artist Shigetoshi Furutani's practice engages with the formation of a language of visuals, exploring methods for visualizing social and personal phenomena, which do not have a conventionally recognized form. His work attempts to develop responses to limitations of language and expand the expression of two-dimensional form in an age of social media and engages with the limits of chaos and order, generativeness and restriction.

Balloon Animals

Balloon Artist, Masayoshi Matsumoto, presents his over-the-top imaginative work designing and making animals, plants, and insects, and more by balloons. So far he has produced about 100 different types of works.

バルーンアーティストの松本壮由は、Balloon animals というタイトルで、自身の制作した作品についてプレゼンテーションを行います。彼はバルーンを用いて動植物・昆虫を作っており、これまでに約100種類の作品を制作しています。

Photographer Felipe Kato shows the “First Series” of his fine art portrait work. Creating a studio space where he and his subjects can take time to experiment together and collaborate with each other, Felipe aims for his images to evoke feelings by way of his process and for them to draw their dynamism not only from their composition and light, but with the emotions of his subjects.

Exploring a New Lifestyle from Omishima Island

Omishima is a beautiful island in the Seto Island Sea. Since the establishment of the Toyo Ito Museum of Architecture, Imabari in 2011, Ito Juku has initiated different projects to renovate vacant houses and winemaking. In this presentation, Kikumi Furukawa will introduce us to new ways of life of the migrants who have relocated to the island.

Almost Perfect Story

Almost by chance and after several life turns, Luis and Yuka founded an artist residence in Tokyo where international creatives can experience Japan and show their work. Together, they share their inspiring story, and they space that they’ve created, which is Almost Perfect.

LuisとYukaは、数々の偶然と紆余曲折を経て、東京にアーティストのための住処をオープンした。ここでは様々な国籍のクリエイターたちが集まり、作品を紹介したり、日本らしさを体験できたりする。今回は、彼らのこれまで歩んできた道と、彼らが作り上げた”Almost Perfect”な空間について、話してもらう。

The Overland Track: A Journey into Tasmania's Wilderness

The Overland Track is one of Australia's "must do" hiking experiences. It encompasses a 65km, 6-day trek through the alpine wilderness of Cradle Mountain National Park. Michael Pope takes us with him, and his sketchbook, on their journey together.

Overland Track は オーストラリアで絶対に外してはならないハイキングです。タスマニアにあるクレードルマウンテン国立公園の65kmにわたる雄大なハイキングコースを6日間で制覇しました。
