Worms, Germs and Immune Diseases

Dr. Paul Giacomin from James Cook University, Cairns Campus discusses some of the fascinating recent research about the rise in rates of common diseases such as asthma, food allergies, diabetes and inflammatory bowel diseases in Australia, and how this may be linked to changes in our exposure to gut bacteria and parasites during childhood. Here he discusses how this information is being used to develop new "pro-biotic" treatments for these diseases.

Ice in Iceland

Sarah-Jane Botham is an artist based in Cairns, Australia.  At the beginning of 2016 Sarah-Jane was in Reykjavic, Iceland for two months as an artist residency.  She became fascinated by the incredible ice formations she was living amongst.  Sarah-Jane shares her photographs and stories from her time in Iceland.
