Ninao's Ice Cream in Tainan

A former furniture salesman, ice cream vendor Li Yu learned how to appreciate the beautiful things in life while selling furniture. Similarly, he hopes his patrons enjoy consuming his ice-cream. To that end, he enrolled in Carpigiani Gelato University, an Italian university dedicated to ice cream, to master the skills required to produce quality ice creams that will bring joy to everyone.

李豫由從事家具業務跨行到販賣冰淇淋,因為買賣家具而學習到如何欣賞美的事物,期望消費者都能從品嚐冰淇淋當中有美好的記憶,他也期盼看到每個人的笑容,並為了學習製作優質的冰淇淋,遠赴義大利冰淇淋大學學習。

The Power of Choxue

Ho Kai-cheng endured a miserable childhood when his family was torn apart. Later, he was adopted by his aunt and uncle in the U.S. Though at first discouraged by his inability to understand English, he grew increasingly confident through his stellar performance in the classroom and on the sports field. He hopes his platform “Choxue”, which combines sports and education, could have a positive influence on the younger generation.

何凱成分享自幼遭逢家庭劇變,由美國的姑姑、姑丈收養,從不懂英文到因為從學業、運動中找回自信的過程,期望透過球學的平台,結合運動與教育,影響更多年輕人的人生。

952 Vazaytamo Magazine in Lanyu

Founded by Hsiao Chi-jen, “952 vazaytamo” is the first magazine targeting young people in Lanyu. Hsiao hopes to use interesting and varied perspectives to bring together young people from different backgrounds to solve Lanyu’s problems, and to remind Lanyu’s young people of their cultural heritage.

蕭祺真創辦第一本屬於蘭嶼年輕人的雜誌《952 vazaytamo》,希望透過雜誌的媒材,集結不同領域的年輕人,發現蘭嶼的問題,並以有趣、不同的視野,提醒島內的年輕人不要忘記自身的文化資產。

The Halfway House Café, Lang Lang Don’t Cry

The Halfway House Café, Lang Lang don’t cry, founded by Tan Jou, serves as a refuge for stray animals. Tan hopes to provide those interested in adopting animals a clean and stress-free environment where they can better understand stray animals, and through which stray cats and dogs can find a warm home. On average, since the cafe’s foundation one animal has been adopted out every week. Tan also hopes to encourage more people to get involved in the running of halfway houses for stray animals.

譚柔開設浪浪別哭咖啡店做為流浪動物中途之家,希望提供給收養者一個乾淨、無壓力的環境,認識流浪動物,也讓流浪貓狗找到溫暖的家人,成立以來平均每週順利促成一件,希望能號召更多人投入經營流浪動物中途之家的行列。

The Future of the Fonts

Founded by Yeh Chun-lin, justfont aims to provide designers with a dazzling array of fonts that can be downloaded from the Cloud. Yeh also founded a Facebook fan page called “Love Fonts” (字戀) where designers can bounce ideas off each other on font-related topics. Moreover, he launched a “Jin Xuan” font  (金萱體) with the support of fundraising platforms, hoping to push educational software developers to roll out more attractive fonts and lift the quality of locally developed fonts. 

葉俊麟創辦justfont希望提供設計師從雲端即可得到自由運用的字型,並成立「字戀」粉絲頁,讓設計師討論字型相關議題,並分享「金萱」新中文字體透過募資平台順利推出的過程,期望拋磚引玉教育軟體業者能推出美的字型,影響並改變台灣未來的文字風景。

Do You A Flavor

For Chu Kuan-chen, “the disadvantaged” aren’t a demographic group, but a “state”, which anybody could fall into at some stage of their lives. She cooks for homeless people leftovers collected from markets, and helps those in need in similar ways. Her benevolent efforts convey the message that love sometimes takes the form of “giving”, sometimes of “taking”.

朱冠蓁分享「弱勢者」不是「族群」,而是一種「狀態」,每個人都可能在一生中經歷到,她將市場上募集到的剩餘食材,煮食後分享給遊民,並以類似方式募集社會資源去幫助需要的人,表達愛的形式有時是「給予」、有時也是「接收」。

The Creativity of Boven Magazine Library

Chou Yen-chuan’s idea of establishing a library stemmed from the speeches he attended while working at Xue Xue Institute. Once a record shop owner, he is now the founder of the Boven Magazine Library, a place that offers a homely atmosphere and warm service. Chou is also embarking on a plan to transform the city into a giant magazine library, planting seeds of creativity in every corner.

周筵川分享從過去在學學文創志業工作聆聽演講時,而萌生成立圖書館的想法種子,歷經開設唱片行,把空間當作家經營,顧客都是朋友的態度,如今成立boven雜誌圖書館,未來也將進行改造城市閱讀的計畫,把整個城市打造成一個大型的雜誌圖書館,將創意的養份灑落在城市的各個角落。

The Power to Change the World

She believes that by combining creativity, technology, and people’s hearts, wrongs can be righted and solutions can be found. She also hopes to harness the power of people to inspire the unselfish sharing of information and to turn dreamers into doers.

Follow Your Heart

In 2014, Tsai Po-cheng won the Audience Favorite Award in The International Competition for Choreographers in Hanover and the Choreography Competition in Masdanza with his masterful work Floating Flowers. In 2015, he was crowned champion in The Choreography Competition in Burgos and The Choreography Competition in Copenhagen, and finished second in The International Choreography Competition in Jerusalem. In sharing his journey and the hurdles he faced in teaching dance in Taiwan, Tsai encourages young people to follow their hearts so that people who share the same vision as them will offer support and follow in their steps. Tsai also reminds young people to stay true to themselves and to speak in the voice of their own generation.

 

 

Po-Cheng Tsai’s international breakthrough came with Floating Flowers. In 2013, the production won the National Creative Dance Competition in Taiwan. In 2014, Floating Flowers won both Audience Award and the First Production Prize at the International Competition for Choreographers in Hannover ,giving Po-Cheng Tsai the opportunity to tour  Floating Flowers with dancers from Gauthier Dance. This piece was invited to perform at 2014 China Dance Forward in Hong Kong and Guangdong, and later  to LUCKY TRIMMER in Berlin in 2015. This year, Po-Cheng’s new work, Hugin/Munin came in first and won Tanz Luzerner Theater Production Award at Copenhagen International Choreography Competition in Denmark; also ranked No.1 and won Italy Balletto Di Siena Production Award at International Contest of Choreography Burgos in Spain. Po-Cheng Tsai founded his own company B.DANCE in Taiwan. He also worked as guest choreographer with different professional companies, including Cloud Gate 2 and Kaohsiung City Ballet. Tsai dedicated himself to dance education and choreographed at Tsoying Senior High School and the Taipei Physical Education  College.

蔡博丞2014以「浮花」奪德國漢諾威國際編舞大賽及西班牙MASDANZA國際編舞大賽「觀眾票選第一名」,2015又以「Hugin/Munin」連奪西班牙布爾戈斯、丹麥哥本哈根編舞大賽首獎,以及耶路撒冷國際編舞大賽銀獎,他分享學習舞蹈過程與在台灣從事舞蹈工作的困境,鼓勵年輕人做對的事就能吸引共同理念的團隊支持,並隨時記得歸零找回初心,發出屬於自己世代的聲音。

The First Taiwanese Admitted to Singularity University

As the first Taiwanese admitted to Singularity University, an institute co-founded by Google and NASA, and as someone who used a fundraising platform to raise tuition funding, Ko Ju-chun shares his journey at universities and with students from many countries. He also talks about the successful launch via fundraising of his LUNA camera that attracted attention from global media. He additionally talks about his participation in the production team behind Talk to Taiwan, an online political talk show aiming to help people find answers via Q&A of expert guests.

葛如鈞為第一位進入美國Google與NASA合辦的奇點大學(Singularity University)及透過募資平台募資學費的台灣人,分享他在奇點大學與各國學生學習的過程,以及LUNA相機透過募資成功上市,吸引各國媒體注意,以及參與網路政論節目「政問」製作團隊,期望讓更多人從節目中專業來賓的問答中一起找答案。
