1 Million Cups is a free, weekly opportunity for local entrepreneurs and startups to engage. Its name is based on the idea that it takes one million cups of coffee to launch a startup.

Pinball - The Great Resurgence

Inspired by the French game "Bagatelle," Harry Williams is credited with introducing the first coin operated pinball machine in 1931. For the next 60 years pinball machines were commonplace in America until they wer supplanted by video games and redemption machines. Today pinball machines are rarely seen and are usually poorly maintained. Sean Spindler speaks about Madison Pinball, a team of local pinball enthusiasts who are bringing pinball machines to the Madison area so everyone can play with and enjoy these marvelous contraptions!

Forward Theater Company - Beyond the Stage

Forward Theater Company is Madison's professional theater. Each year, the theater devotes significant resources to outreach programming and aprtnerships that take the issues in productions beyond the stage and partnerships that take the issues in the productions beyond the stage and out into our community. These efforts allow the theater to engage with both traditional audiences and new constituents, to provoke constructive dialogue about crithical topics facing Madison and to draw attention to other non-profits.

Not My Day Job

Jill's day job consists of keeping servers humming, business clients happy, and banking regulators satisfied. Over the past 18 months, Jill's passion has become setting goals that challenge her body and mind in ways she never thought possible. She's lost 100lbs in this crazy process, ran several 5Ks, a triathlon, and even an adventure race. CrossFit has become her latest passion. It's hard to go from banker to Olympic lifter, but it's a transition she loves makeing every day.
