VOL 21

March 15, 2013
@ The Wolfsonian-FIU

Once the heroic image of class consciousness and national character, pictured widely in the period of the Great Depression, the Soviet Revolution, and the two World Wars, the worker since has disappeared from the contemporary visual landscape.  In exploring this ideological shift from The Wolfsonian- FIU’s new Describing Labor exhibit, the museum hosts a collaborative event with AIGA Miami (American Institute of Graphic Arts) featuring eight presenters who will reveal details about their practice and process at work.  The creative process and laboring journey is almost more important than the final product destination.  By learning from how others work, it allows us to reevaluate our methodologies to completing assignments, hone our project management skills and consider new approaches that could result in more predictable and favorable outcomes.
