The Hidden Spaces

Kathy Toth is an art photographer, and in this presentation she shares a recent photography project about hidden spaces in the city where bridges, drains, and drainage channels become art galleries for graffiti, skate parks for teens. These are all sorts of wonderful things to a small group of people who make creative uses of spaces that are hidden from the common eye.

Rebranding Math

Richard Cerezo loves math, and this has led him to produce PR and videography for math related events at his university. His goal? To give math a public face. In his presentation, he compares the types of mathematicians portrayed by the media vs. the actual mathematicians he deals with in real life. (in English)

Kid in the City

In response to local politician Doug Holyday's recent comment about how Toronto is not the ideal city to raise children, Sarkis Ghanaghounian (AKA Sako) shares how he, as a city kid, loves growing up in a city and all the cool stuff he gets to experience.

The Soudan Project

A group of architects, artists and designers (The Soudan Project) decided to spend 4 days turning a soon to be demolished house into a series of installations that dig into the psyche of a house and reveal its stories beyond bricks and mortar. Each installation represent how the artists answered the question: "What have you always wanted to do to a house?"
