Athletes get the BEST of everything in order to be the BEST they can be at competition.  Those modalities and techniques that keep athletes young and healthy can also be applied to the general population.  Although many people would believe they don’t have the money or the resources to achieve optimal performance, I am going to go over simple habits people can do to optimize their performance and stay young.  I will be covering things like sleep, nutrition, exercise, supplementation, and also mental health.

 

The narrative I will be giving are accounts from my work with my mother and other clients/athletes I have worked with.

Tega Brain is an artist and engineer. She makes eccentric engineering, reimagining everyday technologies to address their politics and envision alternatives. She is currently a resident at Eyebeam Center for Art and Technology, Brooklyn, has both studied and taught at the School for Poetic Computation, and is an Assistant Professor at SUNY Purchase. 

Surya Mattu is an artist and engineer based in Brooklyn. He is currently a fellow at Data&Society where he is investigating infrastructure with a focus on wireless as a way to better understand bias in technology. He is also a contributing researcher at ProPublica. Previously he has worked as an engineer at Bell Labs and is a graduate from the New York University’s Interactive Telecommunications Program. He has a degree in Electronics and Telecommunication from the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom.

An expert in the fields of health, wealth and well-being, and admitting that these topics can be overwhelming and confusing, Joni Peddie’s first book the Fab Quotient is aligned to the self-proclaimed purpose on this planet. On a daily basis we should all be mindful of how we feel our bodies, activate our brains and behave. Jonie is busy writing her second book ‘Sleep is the Swiss Army knife Of your Health’. Besides facilitating team performance workshops and writing books, Jonnie is an avid trail and road runner with 5 Comrades and 6 Two Ocean Marathons under her belt. As a behavioral strategist her fascination lies in people and cultures which takes her and her husband Gavin to offbeat places both locally and internationally. Jonie’s pride and joy are her two daughters. Both studying and partying up a storm (apparently!) at Stellenbosch University. She misses them both desperately but at the same time is not suffering from empty nest syndrome anymore.
