International curator, Entrepreneur, 《Taiwan by Design》Author

Hailing from Australia, Annie is an award-winning curator working with art, technology, and contemporary issues. With many years of experience in different locations around the world, Annie is now a dear friend of Taiwan. She became deeply involved in Taiwanese culture after receiving a “Trip View Bowl” as gift. She thought that the blue-and-white porcelain bowl was beautiful but it needed someone to tell its story to global audiences. Soon after, Annie started a major book project to find 100 iconic products and interview the designers. Many challenges were on the way but she was brave and motivated to finish the work. Annie says: When I follow my dream, I see “impossible” as “I’m possible”.

BY CHIA HSING HO
@ VOL 35 ON DEC 09, 2017

Born and raised in Twatutia, where modern lifestyle and history collide, Ho graduated from the College of Fine Arts, National Taiwan University of Arts, with double majors in Calligraphic Seal Carving and Modern Art. Since 2000, he has been creating artworks inspired by seal script writing as part of his experimental exhibition series, Writing Words, through observing the evolution of lines manifested by the body at different periods of time. In 2006, he established Timonium Lake. Using the lines and silhouettes of seal script calligraphy as his design methodology, he became a long-time collaborator with creators from different realms. He reinvigorates his design language by drawing upon the nutrients of folk culture and inspiration from the ever-changing trends of contemporary Asian and Taiwanese design.

BY GREG SCHATZ
@ VOL 6 ON NOV 01, 2018

Can there be a link between Montana and Mongolia? It was Greg Schatz's job to find one when he traveled there with his wife Deborah. Their job was simple - find a way to convince western tourists that a trip to remote Mongolia should be on everyone's bucket list. No problem right?

In a few short minutes, Greg that the place you are in on the outside matters little; it's the inside, the humanity, that counts.
