We're excited to invite you to join us on Wednesday, July 17th for another installment of PechaKucha Night Tokyo, this time Vol. 165 at, The CORE Kitchen/Space in Shintoranomon! 

As usual, we're planning a stellar line-up of some amazing presenters who will share with us their creative passion on this new stage at the CORE!!! Join us in spotlighting our city’s creative class at PechaKucha Night Tokyo, Vol. 165!

Doors tentatively open at 19:00 (7pm), presentations begin 20:20! (8:20pm). Watch this space for updates. Entrance is ¥1000 -- no need to pre-order -- just come down on the night of!

Origami x Onigiri = ORINIGIRI

Architect Tomoo Nitta gives a presentation on the activities of ORINIGIRI, Origami makes various shapes of Onigiri, Origami x Onigiri = ORINIGIRI. This activity began as the volunteer activity for the Tohoku Reconstruction Project, and now various workshops are being held by various people in various places in Japan and abroad. In this presentation, Tomoo will talk about the future challenge of ORINIGIRI。


建築家の新田知生さんは、オリニギリというおりがみをしながらそれを型紙にしていろいろなおにぎりを作る活動(おりがみ x おにぎり = オリニギリ)についてプレゼンテーションを行います。この活動は東北復興プロジェクトのボランティア活動から始まり、現在では国内外の様々な場所で様々な方々によるワークショップが展開されています。今回のプレゼンテーションではこのオリニギリの今後のチャレンジをお伝えします。

She’ll share her story and how going viral on the internet became a life-changing moment in her creative process.

Travel as a Tool

Anna Vihma gives a preview to Travel as a Tool, an exhibition project she’s currently working on. The project investigates travel as a concept and the different ways traveling has been incorporated in the practice of Nordic designers, since the 1940s until today. 

Anna Vihmaは、旅をツールとして捉えた最新プロジェクトの展示会を開催しました。このプロジェクトは、1940年代から今日に至るまで、旅自体を一つのコンセプトとして見つめ、北欧のデザイナーが慣習としておこなってきた旅の仕方が、どのように違うかを教えてくれます。

Imagine Your Own Picnic!

Tokyo Picnic Club was founded in 2002 to celebrate the bicentennial anniversary of the picnic, which became popular by "Pic-Nic Club" founded in London, March 1802. Club's co-founder Hiroshi Ota presents its 17 years of the club's adventure and discovery.

東京ピクニッククラブは、2002年にピクニック生誕200年を記念して設立されました。ピクニックの語源は、1802年3月に「Pic-Nic Club」が英国で設立されて広まったとのこと。17年間の活動の中で見つけたピクニックについての発見の数々を、東京ピクニッククラブの共同代表、太田 浩史さんに語っていただきます。

The Art of Collaboration

Long-time Tokyo resident and friend of PK, photographer Martin Holtkamp steps into the PK spotlight! Martin speaks about a collaborative new direction his photographic efforts have taken him, having recently teamed up with talent and creative agency Pocko. Currently, he is participating in a number of group exhibitions that have at their core a practice that he compares to artistic blind-dating. Seeing some of the results on display now at Park Hotel in Shiodome, we are sure you'll agree it's a match in heaven.


東京での生活歴が長くPechaKuchaフレンドでもある写真家Martin Holtkampが、今月登壇します!才能溢れるクリエイティブエージェンシーPockoとチームを組んで行ったプロジェクトについて話していただきます。アーティスト版ブラインドデートと言われるこのプロジェクト。様々なアーティスト達の組み合わせが、最高の作品を作り出しています!作品は、現在パークホテル東京汐留で展示中ですので、ぜひご自身の目でも確かめてください!
