Location: At “Wild Rivers Outdoor Ampetheatre” at the Rio Grande National Monument. Map will be available soon.
What: Volume 17 of Pecha Kucha Night Taos, outdoors (open rain or shine) in collaboration with: Pecha Kucha Night Taos, LEAP, BLM, Questa Tourism Department.
 

 “Celebrate UNESCO’s 2015 Year of Light, Northern New Mexico style, with “Luz es Vida,” a themed evening of all that light can mean. Come explore dramatic hiking trails, pitch your tent and stay ‘til Sunday. Or, just enjoy catered savouries and sweets and a Pecha Kucha under the stars.”

SCHEDULE

4:30pm: Guided Hike - with Erin Freiboth (DOI/VISTA) - FREE
                -2 hour planned hike around the Wild Rivers area, hilly and partially stenuous (proper attire recommended). DOI/VISTA (Department of the Interior / Volutneers in service to America) Erin Freiboth will lead the tour with guest experts to discuss flora and fauna, archeology, etc. more details soon.

7:00pm: Dinner - catered by Kathy Morsell + Local Organic produce from Daniel Carmona and Cerro Farms
                -reservations required, Vegetarian/gluten free options available.  Buffet style. Menu: Grilled polenta, Roasted vegetables, Black bean salad, Farm-to-table green salad, assorted homemade cookies, Iced-teas, juice or water

8:30pm: Pecha Kucha presentations
                -Full line-up to be announced in early June. All around the theme of “Light”… expect 8-10 presentations.

$48 - Special ‘PK’ Package 

deadline to reserve show, dinner, bus package for $48.00 is Wednesday, July 8th” (includes roundtrip school bus transportation with on-board guide + entertainment, dinner and show). 50 people will enjoy the option of a chauffeured ride out to the monument Meeting place will be the overflow parking lot for Taos Diner (Northside) (intersection of HWY 64 and Hale Creek -AT PUEBLO). The hour-long ride will add a 15 min. break in Questa, to stretch, visit the bathroom, and view OCHO art + event space. Bus leaves at 5:00pm sharp and returns to town at 11pm (or sooner as timing of presentations allows). Bus riders will arrive before the start of dinner, and in time to choose good seats for the show.

$10 - Show only* -
deadline to reserve a seat for the show only, $10, is Friday, July 17th Reserved tickets can be guaranteed a seat…people that don’t reserve and show up at the door risk standing room only.

$7 - Camping - upon arrival through the BLM

FREE - Guided Hike

*Please note that event tends to sell out. It is advised to make reservations. Tickets are available day of show, but run the risk of standing room only. Dinner only available with reservation. Camping is available through BLM at self-pay stations within the Monument for $7. Day-use fee has been waived for the event. This is a ‘rain-or-shine’ event!
