A network of illustrators and authors, Books for Syria creates books for children to reinstill hope back into their lives.

PKN Sharjah Vol. 3 will take place at the Maraya Art Centre on Saturday, September 28, and will feature 8 presenters speaking on topics ranging from graphic design to urban planning. Read the full article here.

Sharjah's Vol. 2 just went down without a hitch this past April 13, and was recapped by AME Info. Here's a taste of the article's content:

The curtains came down on the second edition of the Sharjah PechaKucha Nights at Maraya Art Park, in Al Majaz Waterfront on Saturday. The night featured dynamic educational and artistic presentations from twelve inspirational young talents. 

Aflamnah presented the first website to introduce Crowdfunding in the UAE. They demonstrated how Crowdfunding could aid artists, film-makers, and other creative entrepreneurs to raise funds, and achieve set goals...

Just over a month ago in Sharjah, of the United Arab Emirates multitudes gathered at the Maraya Art Centre for PKN Sharjah Vol. 1! Sharjah organizer Salem Al-Qassimi had this to say about the festivities:

...the first PechaKucha Night Sharjah was a huge success! The event was a full-house! And the people and the speakers stayed for a long time after to mingle. We are already preparing for a PechaKucha in April and will be moving it to a bigger venue.
