Ceramic Artist , Not Yet Perfect in Perth

Lucy Aboagye - Not Yet Perfect Pottery

Not Yet Perfect is a ceramic business that strives not only to make beautiful pottery, but also to beautiful creative experiences, soul soothing spaces, magical moments and idea inducing workshops.

Ceramics are what set the table and create a place for people to come together, eat together, have deep conversation and create beautiful lasting memories.

At Not Yet Perfect we will continue to create perfectly imperfect connection, beautifully flawed ceramics, and extend this spirit of liberation to the beholders of our creations.

Save the bees

BY CHANDRA MACDONALD
@ VOL 25 ON AUG 22, 2019

Chandra MacDonald - Lilii Press

“The easiest way to help save the bees is to do nothing- don’t mow your lawn, your verge, don’t spray your weeds, don’t cut them down. Just sit back and relax, and know that you are actively supplying the bees with food”

My shop Lilii press was born out of my love for flowers and plants. There is something so magical about being able to press a flower and preserve its original beauty to be enjoyed all year round.

The Second Salon

BY KATIE LEENEN
@ VOL 25 ON AUG 22, 2019

Katie Leenen - The Second Salon

Katie talks about her journey in creating her small essential oil business. She talks about passion, criticism and growth.

Welcome to your Second Salon.

We're an essential oil company. We also see ourselves as a self care company.

Our guiding principle is to contribute more to the world than we take. For us, this means producing the purist quality 100% essential oil, along with complementary products to help you incorporate essential oils into the daily rituals of your life. When you mindfully diffuse an essential oil blend, or take 20 minutes out of your day to have a restorative bath, and then feel amazing, we've done our job.

Our products are made using only natural ingredients. 100% essential oils, all natural Epsom Salt and pure plant oils. No synthetic or petroleum based products or artificial colours or fragrances are ever used. We don't test on animals.

UWA IQX Space - Architecture & Design

BY JORDAN-ALICE FYFE
@ VOL 25 ON AUG 22, 2019

Lee Syminton - Architect

Lee talks about the project of UWA IQX space. An innovative co-working space where we hosted Vol.25 PechaKucha Perth.

The Masonic Hall in Nedlands is owned by the University of Western Australia. The hall is refurnished to house UWA’s Innovation Quarter Exchange, Offices, meeting hall and boardroom. The project was won under a competition run by the University. The building is of heritage significance and has been designed with minimal impact on the original fabric. The project includes a new lift shaft to allow disabled access to the second floor, the renovation of the original masonic temple into a co-working space. Careful design and work with the State Heritage office have resulted in an exciting fresh and respectful project.

City Focus: Taipei

This week, we are traveling in part to an ancient, dried out lakebed to visit
Taipei for our City Focus. Home to just under three million residents, Taipei stands as the cultural, political, educational and economic hub of its host country, Taiwan. The city is filled with culture and incredible food, as well as many unique architectural feats like the National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and Taipei 101, the former tallest building in the world. The skyline of the city provides breathtaking views in the night like the one pictured here, with lights of all different colors that shine bright for all to see.
What's more, they are hosting their Vol. 40 event at the end of August on the 31st, you will not want to miss it!
