Party Animals

Ryan Sumo is an indie game developer and artist who is currently working on a game called Party Animals, that takes a fascinating look at Filipino politics, by presenting it in a way that makes it surprisingly fun. 

This presentation was recorded live at BitSummit MMXIV, the 2nd edition of the Kyoto-based indie game festival.

Cutalogue of Textiles

Sara Oka is Curator of Textiles at the Honolulu Museum of Arts. Before working at the museum, she taught art and bookbinding at various institutions and coordinated public art programming for the Mayor’s Office of Culture and the Arts. She talks about the inventory of her collection of textiles from all around the world. She shows pictures of different types of clothes and designs on them, from different parts of the world.

Indonesian Batik Meets Japanese Kimono

Batik is a form of traditional wax-resist dyeing originally from Java island in Indonesia. In Yasuyo Fujimoto's presentation, she talks about how she encountered batik, the royal batik tradition of Java island, how she uses batik in her kimono dyeing work, as well as recent projects. She also touches on what she wants to do in the future.
