PKN Groningen Climbs Tasman Tower

As we previewed last week, last night's PechaKucha Night in Groningen Vol. 12 featured one of the most interesting venues we've yet seen. Here's more from organizer Simon Groen:

PechaKucha Night Vol. 12 in Groningen was held in the new Tasman Tower, that is not ready yet (pictured above, a rendering of the finished building). It is a rather high PechaKucha, on the 23th floor. Visitors were brought to that floor in an elevator. Because the Tasman Tower is still a construction site, visitors were given a headphone with safety instructions.

On the top floor visitors saw presentations by the first Dutch astronaut, Wubbo Ockels, and the archtiect of the Tasman Tower, Wicher van der Wal, and some 10 other presentations. Visitors were also served a "high tea."

Last night's event also commemorated the untimely death of Mark Hoekstra, who originally brought PKN to Groningen -- see also yesterday's post on the "Mark Hoekstra PechaKucha Award."
