In the summer of 2018, Jordan was able to hike over 400 miles of the Colorado Trail from Denver to Durango with his wife and our dog, Aska. Besides just the majesty of the mountains and wilderness, Jordan also got to experience Colorado's special history and heritage as we made stops in several towns including Twin Lakes, Salida, and Silverton. Additionally, the connections Jordan made provided my adventure with a unique perspective that I want to share with others through our initiative entitled "Colorado Heritage Journey" (https://coheritagejourney.com/)

Rwanda, Up Close and Personal
BY CLAIRE BOUCHARD
@ VOL 5
ON AUG 16, 2018
In 2016, Claire Bouchard's daughter graduated from CSU and got a new job. How thrilling! The U.S. government hired her daughter to be a Peace Corps Education Volunteer, in Rwanda, Africa, for 27 months. Rwanda is still recovering from their horrible genocide 24 years ago. Like any caring parent, Claire was unsure how this was all going to work out. And so 14 months into her service, Claire went there to see it for myself. How could Claire have prepared for the joy and peace that greeted her? For seven days, Claire was embraced by wonderful people, and saw how much they love Claire's daughter, too. This is a story of discovery and awe.
