This week's City Focus brings us to Ellensburg located in central Washington. Ellensburg was founded in the late 19th century, and many of the buildings, such as the Historic Davidson Building, from that time still make for a rustic scene downtown. Given such charming flare Ellensburg has even developed its own language, in order to properly describe the various personalities of Ellensburg. Words such as adventuriest, to provide never-ending adventure. Let’s start off one the best Pechakucha-iest year in Ellensburg with the event on January 28. See everyone there!

This week we shine the PechaKucha People spotlight on PKN Ellensburg organizer, and executive director at Gallery One Visual Arts Center (where her PKN are hosted), Monica Miller, a champion of her community's talent and creativity. Having worked with arts organizations for over 15 years, Monica is dedicated to ensuring that her gallery is relevant to the community it serves, providing artists opportunities like PechaKucha Nights for networking, inspiration, and for a sustainable arts community! Monica holds a BA from the College of William and Mary and an MA from Johns Hopkins University in Museum Studies. She grew up as a military brat visiting museums around the world, and for a brief stint wanted to be a potter, and now makes ceramics dinosaur fossils with her five-year-old son, plans camping adventures with her artist husband, and rides her bike when time allows! Thanks Monica for your commitment to PechaKucha Nights in Ellensburg!
