About the City's Organizers
Joanna Brown is a visual artist, activist and mathematician whose work encompasses photography, artists’ books, sculpture, ceramics and printmaking, and often incorporates a strong collaborative element.
Long ago, Stephen attended Goldsmiths College, was awarded a Henry Moore Fellowship at the Slade, and was included in the New Contemporaries at the ICA London. He has exhibited in the UK and abroad, including in a group show at the Serpentine Gallery and at Canary Wharf with Gary Hume, Damien Hirst, Sarah Lucas, Michael Landy and others in Freeze. Stephen has also designed and made jewellery, performed comedy and poetry, and co-hosted a popular cabaret event in Totnes. He was closely involved with Dartmoor Arts Summer School. Throughout his career he has taught and delivered workshops at various places including The Royal College of Art. His recent drawings are splendid.
'a professional believer in people' Constantly curious; always developing and growing - increasingly with others.....exploring through art and art making, reading and studying, increasingly more and more interested in cohort forming and community building, and the conversational nature of reality....
