In "Finding Purpose Through Travel, Service, and Photography" from PechaKucha Night Christchurch Vol. 32, Jonathan H. Lee shares his extraordinary experiences that have led him to opportunities that would forever change his life.

Jonathon is a traveling photographer and videographer with a passion for wilderness, community development, and sustainable food and urban systems. In the past several years his work and interests have given him opportunities to visit many places around the globe for learning, serving, and sharing in all forms. Jonathan’s most recent collaboration is with Conscious Impact, a grassroots organization dedicated to rebuilding community in a rural village in Nepal following the devastating 2015 earthquake.

In "Chaos in Space" from PechaKucha Night Christchurch Vol. 31Jonny Knopp, whom accidentally wore slippers to his presentation, ponders architectural creation in accompaniment of his simple, yet quirky illustrations.

Festival director Johnny Gibson talks about how creating events is about making a fully immersive experience, not unlike entering into an alternative world...

In A Local Food Project from PechaKucha Night Christchurch Vol. 18, Local chef, Alex Davies shares how he uses produce foraged and sourced from only the Canterbury region. Since working with seasonal foods, his menu changes daily depending on what he has each day. He develops relationships with his growers and can always tell you the story of where your food came from that day. He now operates an open kitchen at a local cafe and wine bar called Shop Eight.

The Positive Food Dream: Now a Reality

Giulio Sturla, a chef of Roots Restaurant, in Lyttelton, New Zealand, talks about the connection between nature and food. By understanding nature better, people will get a greater understand and appreciation for food. 

PechaKucha Night Christchurch organizer Erica Austin steps into the "PechaKucha Passionate" spotlight again for being recognized by Architecture Now for all the many hats she wears in her effort make Christchurch a more liveable city. Working for the city's "Ministry of Awesome" we salute Erica's awesomeness!

In Clean tech playground: De Ceuvel  at PechaKucha Night Christchurch Vol. 29, Partner of renowned repurposing architects SuperUse StudiosJos de Krieger takes us on a field trip around De Ceuvel, a clean tech playground in Amsterdam. There, innovators reclaimed a disused industrial portside site to create a space for experimentation with technologies for a sustainable future.

In Watch this Space: Christchurch Street Art at PechaKucha Night Vol. 29, Lindsay Chan shares her discovery of numerous murals popping up around the city of Christchurch, New Zealand. In response to the recent natural disaster, many local artists have taken to the streets to create a lively atmosphere through adversity and art. Lindsay hopes that the creation of an app will bring her community together one mural at a time.
