10 years ago Matt Westbrook suddenly lost his sense of smell, leaving him also unable to taste. As a keen eater this left him bereft and having to re learn taste, odour and flavour. Of most anxiety though was his inability to access the 'smell memories’ accrued through life. However he soon became intrigued in how this process of searching for lost files could enhance his art practice.
